Mrs. Winslow

Welcome to Mrs. Winslow’s home page.  I work in two programs, Home Study and Minors.  In Home Study you will have regular appointments scheduled.  Minors have class Tuesdays from 12:30-3:30.  In both programs you can always schedule an extra appointment if needed.  Please communicate by email or call my voice mail to leave a message.  My extension is 6632 and operates 24 / 7.  If you have a question about an assignment, please leave the following information on the phone or by email:

Your name

Your phone number

A good time(s) to return the call

The subject, name, textbook and page the assignment is on

Your question(s) about the assignment—in detail

There are no excused absences at Wilson because the work is to be done at home:

20 hours a week in grades K-3

25 hours in grades 4-12

Please note that the hours may be higher if you need more time to complete the work.  Your work must be completed weekly.  If you miss a class / appointment, the work needs to be turned in regardless.  Home Study students should fax, email or drop off work during the week when there is no appointment.

Writing assignments for students in grades 5-12:

When you are working on a writing assignment, send it in to me as soon as it is finished.  Then I will look at it and determine whether it is a draft or a final copy.  The sooner I get the work, the faster I can return it to you.  If you can, faxing or emailing work speeds up the communication time, and typed work is easier to read and edit.

For the Minors Program

Class is Tuesdays from 12:30-3:30 in room 28.  You are responsible to turn in work weekly at your appointed class and come on time.  If you need help or have questions, you may schedule an additional appointment.  You may have to come to class more often to complete Spanish in the computer lab, room 28 (Mrs. Grimes), or Tech I in the computer lab, room 27 (Mr. Pacheco).  You may need to come every day in order to complete the lab classes on time.  It depends on when you started in the semester, how many credits you need, and how fast you work.  You will sign up for a scheduled day / time to attend the lab(s).

I enjoy working with students and their families.  I can help you set goals to make this a rewarding year!
