Welcome to the Social Studies
page! In this section you are asked to complete the exercises in the
education section of CNN. You will also be able to find
editorials and articles which you can use to write your persuasive opinion
essay of another author's work. In this way you will not only write
essays, but you will also be expanding your knowledge of national and
world events. You are also linked to MSNBC and Time where you will
find useful information for your written essays. Other sites will be added during the
year.
At the CNN site find the Story of the Week, read
it and complete the vocabulary, multiple choice, sequencing, and
conclusion exercises You may use the "Your Turn" exercise to

At the MSNBC site click on opinions, choose
a topic, read the story, and write your opinion. After your teacher
reviews it, you may click on letters to the editor - e-mail and send it to
the editor. From time to time you should click on political cartoons

At the Time site click on Education, click on
covers, click on a magazine issue, click on an article from Nation or
