This activity requires
developing a PowerPoint about the Civil Rights Movement
in the United States.
The 5 elements of a news story -
who, what, when,
where, why should be addressed in your
PowerPoint.
Your slides should include
background information,
personality profiles, description of events with
pictures, and sound.
All resources should be listed on
your last slide with the title, Works Cited .
When you prepare your information
include:
Key events and people of the civil
rights movement
What were their goals?
What were the strategies of the
participants?
Why did the civil rights movement
succeed?
On the next to the last slide
reflect and, in your own words, answer the question, “Do
you feel that the goals of the Civil Rights Movement
have been attained?”
The
last slide(s) will be titled
“Cited
Works”.
Your project should be timed and
have appropriate music/audio accompany it. You may want
to include video (AVI).
The PowerPoint should not be more
than 8 minutes in length.
You are to follow the rubric you
have been given.
Use Inspiration 6
software to outline your information. Print and turn
your outline in to me.
This
project will be presented before a panel of judges the
last week in May.
If you are a
sophomore or a freshman, this project will be used to
meet one of the technology requirements for graduation.
